The Duravant Group company will showcase its flexible packaging solutions at Stand C081-C089 of the Fair, which will be held from 20 to 23 March in Cologne, Germany, focusing its attention this year on boosting resource efficiency.

Barcelona, 15 March 2018.- Achieving more protective and, at the same time, more efficient use of natural resources will be a key competence for the societies of the future. Therefore, this year’s Anuga FoodTec, the leading trade fair for the international food and drinks industry, as well as the only one in the world to cover all aspects of food production, will focus its efforts on this theme. Thus, the exhibitors set to attend the triennial fair in Cologne, Germany, from 20 to 23 March will present a wide range of solutions to enhance competitiveness and reduce the use of energy and water while improving the efficiency of the food production chain.

As Mespack will. The company, specializing in the design and manufacture of flexible packaging machinery for the forming, filling and sealing of 4-sided sealed sachets, stick packs and stand-up pouches and a member of the Duravant Group, will attend the fair accompanied by its H130, H170 and MS1200 machines.

The H-series machines (H130 and H170) are particularly robust and compact and can be operated in a straightforward manner. They also ensure high production rates (up to 200 sachets per minute) with minimal maintenance.

The first two, corresponding to the H series (consisting of 24 models), are flexible packaging machines which are robust and capable of working day after day with maximum efficiency and respect for the environment, as they reduce both the raw materials for the packaging. “If the amount of material is reduced, the cost and amount of waste go down as we improve the packaging processes and, as a result, less energy is used in the manufacturing”, explains Santi Alberich, Mespack’s Marketing Director. In addition, by adjusting the sizes of the packaging and wrapping to improve their transport, less space is wasted and we thus achieve lower energy consumption and lower storage costs”, adds the company’s head of marketing.
Thus, the H130 machines (for powdered small-format flat sachets) and the H170 machine (for twin sachets) to be displayed at Anuga FoodTec are all robust and compact and can be operated in a straightforward manner. They also ensure high production rates (up to 200 sachets per minute), with minimal maintenance and great reliability. And they allow the product to be presented with the most innovative design. Indeed, this set of machines can produce different packaging formats and sizes (such as 3 or 4-sided sealed flat sachets) by making only small adjustments.

As for the MS1200, it is a 4-track machine (prepared for 6) which manufactures a large stick pack format (90 mm wide). It is suitable for snacks and/or sweets, candies, etc. With a high production rate, it can reach 65 cycles per minute, with production totalling 260 sachets per minute.

As for Mespack’s new series of stick pack machines, it consists of three different models, depending on the maximum width of the coil. The MS1200 model, which will be seen in operation at the fair in Germany, has a particularly high level of technology and precision, as the MS1000 and MS1200 models are completely servomotorized and have been designed in accordance with the TPM (total productive maintenance) principle, enabling the operator to see the inside the machine without having to open any doors. “This makes it easier for the technicians to check that everything is working properly without having to stop the machine, given that, if they open a door, the machine automatically stops for safety reasons”, indicates Alberich. “The entire MS series”, continues Mespack’s Marketing Director, “is manufactured with a reinforced, tubular and monoblock steel structure, designed to help the operator to access all the machine parts and facilitate the maintenance tasks. And all the models incorporate safety locks into all their guards and can be configured with different dosing systems and special motorized systems to facilitate the cleaning tasks.”

“The MS1200, in particular, is a 4-track machine (prepared for 6) which manufactures a large stick pack format (90 mm wide), although this model can produce a stick pack with a maximum width of 115 mm”, points out Alberich. The model which will be featured in Cologne is suitable for snacks and/or sweets, candies, etc. With a high production rate – it reaches 65 cycles per minute – it can produce a total of 260 sachets per minute, “the speed is always subject to the characteristics of the product and the volume to be dosed”, explains the company’s Marketing Director.
