Hispack 2018

Barcelona, 22 May 2018.- In addition to promoting business, sectoral fairs function as an exceptional observatory of the trends within an industry. At the recent Hispack fair (8 to 11 May 2018), the undeniable transformation packaging and food production are undergoing was clear to see. With a total of 40,000 registered visitors (5% more than at the previous fair held in 2015), the international packaging, wrapping and logistics show provided a perfect showcase for the most innovative solutions, to create a favourable business climate and to enhance professional networking. An opportunity which Mespack, an international manufacturer of flexible packaging solutions, capitalized on once again to strengthen its position as one of the leading innovative companies in the sector and to make around fifty high-quality contacts.

Hispack 2018

“Our attendance at Hispack was very positive”, confirms Santi Alberich, the company’s Marketing Director, “as we presented a new laser cutting system for primary packaging, as well as our first wrap-around machine for flexible packaging, thus demonstrating the firm commitment we have towards our customers, since we now have the option of offering comprehensive packaging lines (from primary to secondary packaging).”

The laser cutting system could be seen in action with the H180 FE machine Mespack exhibited at Hispack with great success. “This is an optimized version of the solution we presented at Interpack 2017; it has been considerably improved thanks to our close partnership with MACSA ID. Its main advantage lies in the savings it provides, not only in terms of components – it allows cutting and coding at a single point – but also material. And we’re already working on enabling this cutting system to also make the pre-cut of the film for guaranteed easy opening,” states Alberich.

Visitors to the fair were also able to see Mespack’s new WA series in operation, which allows secondary packaging of the sachets produced by the HFFS, HFS and HCM series. “Mespack’s WA7000 wrap-around case packer exhibited at Hispack is a modern, flexible and robust machine which guarantees maximum production results by minimizing the times required for each format change and can produce 45 boxes per minute,” explains Alberich.

Both innovations were very popular among visitors, who were able to obtain first-hand confirmation that “we’re a powerful company, capable not only of providing a good service to our customers but also innovating to become every day more efficient and optimizing all the processes,” emphasizes Alberich. “It should be noted that Mespack can also provide solutions for secondary rigid packaging for the food and beverage industry and the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and home care sectors, among many others. In fact, we have recently expanded our wrap-around equipment catalogue, and we now have machines and case packers, as well as palletizers capable of working with this kind of packaging,” underlines the company’s Marketing Director.

Reinforcing ties
Finally, another of Mespack’s best decisions regarding Hispack was to attend the event sharing a stand with Sermatec, its representative in Spain for primary and secondary packaging equipment. “This year we had a joint stand, and this, added to the ongoing work they carry out with our team to increase our domestic presence, helped us to strengthen and give visibility to our relationship with our commercial network,” concludes Alberich.
