• The ability to produce various formats on the same machine, as well as their production speed, caught the interest of close to 150 visitors who attended the stand (1G01) run by the Duravant Group company for the first time at the Nigerian trade show.
• Manufacturers from Central Africa have also deemed the fact that Mespack – the only flexible packaging machine manufacturer at this exhibition – is strongly represented in Nigeria, to be highly positive.
• Food and Beverage West Africa has gathered producers of powdered milk, spices, tea, juices, sauces, oil and local packaging companies of farming produce from Nigeria, and also from Cameroon, Ghana, the Republic of Benin, the Ivory Coast and Togo.
The first-time presence of the flexible packaging solutions manufacturer, Mespack, at Food and Beverage West Africa (18 to 20 June, Landmark Centre in Lagos, Nigeria) produced excellent results. Up to 150 producers of powdered milk, spices, oil, sauces, juices, tea and local packaging companies of farming produce from Central Africa came down to its stand (1G01), where they offered particular praised for the versatility of the company’s machines, as well as their production speed. Santi Alberich, the Duravant Group subsidiary’s Marketing Manager, explains this: “Thanks to the comprehensive display featuring pouches manufactured by our machines showcased at the trade fair, as well as the screens where our machines could be viewed in operation, customers were able to verify two things: on the one hand, how our solutions stand apart from the competition due to their flexibility in the number of formats we can produce with a single machine; in the other hand, experience how they differ from the proposals of Asian manufacturers due to their sturdiness, efficiency and ongoing innovation”. Furthermore, the Nigerian market increasingly demands flexible packaging and pouches that have a good design, which is “highly beneficial for Mespack which, additionally, was the only packaging machine manufacturing company at this exhibition, recognizes Alberich.
Strongly represented in Nigeria
End-of-line solutions were also the focus of attention in the trade fair, with many customers asking about them, as well as Mespack’s local presence. “Indeed, having an office in Nigeria is a plus that our customers have valued wholeheartedly. At present we have 27 references in this country and it is very important for us to be able to offer them a reliable and personal service”, confirmed the company’s Marketing Manager. “Furthermore”, continued Alberich, “considering that Food and Beverage West Africa has been attended by producers not only from Nigeria, but also from Cameroon, Ghana, the Republic of Benin, the Ivory Coast and Togo, the importance of local presence has proliferated”.
In light of these results, Mespack will continue committing to feature in future editions of the Nigerian trade show: “Food and Beverage West Africa has emerged as a very good trade fair with a very high attendance and we have opened up to ten operations with good prospects. Thus, we will continue taking part and we will do so, undoubtedly, with a larger stand in order to absorb an increasing number of visitors”, concluded the company’s Marketing Manager.
